Istana Maimun Palace is often also referred to as the Palace of Princess green. This Palace is located at JL. Brigjen Katamso Medan. The Palace is one of the beautiful old palaces in the country which still stands to this day.
The Palace was built during the reign of Sultan Makmun Al Rasyid Perkasa Alamsyah, the eldest son of Sultan Mahmud Perkasa Alam, founder of the city of Medan.
He succeeded his father to become King of the Sultanate of Deli since 1873 M until 1924, He is the Sultan of Deli-IX. Yellow color that stands out on the outside of the building and the Interior of the Palace is the characteristic color of the Sultanate and the Malay culture.
The construction of the Palace started since August 26, 1888, and was inaugurated on May 18, 1891. The Palace stands on a land area of 3,181 m2, which contains 30 rooms was designed by architect Netherlands. The name TH Van Erp, which combines elements of Malay culture heritage, Islam, Spain, India, and Italy in his design.
Since 1946, the Palace was inhabited by the heirs of the Sultanate of Deli. In certain times, this Palace is often performed a traditional Malay music performances. Typically, such occasions held shows in order to enliven the marriage festivities and other activities of joy.
In addition, twice a year, the Sultan of Deli is usually held an event hospitality among big family Palace. On every Friday evening, the sultan family held an event of these indigenous peoples (sort of a wiridan family). For the visitors that come to the Court, they can still have a look at the collection on display at the Conference, such as family photos, home furnishings ancient Netherlands, and various types of weapons.

By most of society communities especially Deli items are considered sacred and Holy and is always connected with the legend of Princess green.
Green Princess has two siblings namely Mambang Diazid Mambang and Fanciful story that happened in 1612. It was Green's daughter wanted to applied by the Kingdom of Aceh, but the application was denied by the New Kingdom of the Aru. As a result there was a great battle between the two parties. The Aru Recently suffered a defeat and it was one continuous cannon to shoot without any humans who control it.
Due to the overheating of the cannon burst. Green's daughter eventually led away to Aceh, but travel in the middle was intercepted by a dragon who allegedly was an incarnation of abang Princess Green Mambang Diazid. Since then the real daughter of the Dragon-Green and until now no one knew it.
